How to install a recirculating hot water pump in your house so you don;t have to wait for hot water?

like do you put the pump into the return line to the house or into the line going into the hot water heater or a web site I can go that explans it or has a viedoHow to install a recirculating hot water pump in your house so you don;t have to wait for hot water?a recirculating hot water system requires a loop. pipes running from the hot water tank

to all the outlets, then back to the tank, then a short pipe feeds to the faucets, so your talking about a lot of expense,

plus the pump. not cost effective unless there is a long run for the hot water,How to install a recirculating hot water pump in your house so you don;t have to wait for hot water?I just put one in my home and did not use a pump. Mine is strictly gravity. I cut into (with a tee fitting) the present hot water feed line at a point which was farthest from the water heater and then bring a new line back to and teed into the drain at the very bottom of the heater. I put a shut off valve in the line just %26quot;up%26quot; from the new tee near the drain so it can be adjusted or shut off if needed. (Mine is open and has been since I installed it) Some systems may require a check valve in the new return line on the horizontal part of the return line near the water heater. I put one in but it wouldn't allow my system to work so I removed it and all is well now. All you are doing is making a loop so the hot water is always circulating from the heater thru the feed lines and when it cools a bit it returns by gravity to the tank. This is the very best thing I have done in many years. This gives you Instant hot water and no pumps, no electric use. You can read about this system on the web. Just Google for it. Good luckHow to install a recirculating hot water pump in your house so you don;t have to wait for hot water?First question would be, do you already have a loop system in place? If you do have a loop system, the pump is usually installed at the bottom of your water heater in place of the boiler drain, pumping into the water heater. Very Important is to also have an expansion tank installed, in case there is a pressure build up in your line. Best thing is to have a plumber properly install this setup.

If you do not have a loop system, there is a way to create a hot water loop system. A company called GRUNDFOS has created a circulating pump that attaches onto the hot/ outlet side of your water heater. Then at the lavatory or faucet, furthest away from the water heater, a bridge fitting is installed, turns the cold water line into your return water for your water heater. Now your hot and cold water are acting as your hot water loop. When cold water is needed, turn on your faucet and wait for the hot to flush out. The circulating pump also has a timer, so you can set pump for peak use time.

Check out www.grundfos.com.How to install a recirculating hot water pump in your house so you don;t have to wait for hot water? What you want is a tank less hot water heater. These are expensive to say the least. I cannot think of anything else that would meet your requirements to date.

How can you calculate water pump capacity for a jet boat?

I need to know how many litres per minute a jet boat pump is outputting. I know that the outlet diameter is 28mm and the thrust is 5kg. Power source is 2x7.2V 3300mAh batteries. How can you calculate water pump capacity for a jet boat?It depends on how you are figuring out the thrust, how much current your motor draws, or its efficiency. If you knew the wattage your motor uses and it's efficiency you could just calculate using the formula for pump head.

How do i know if my car water pump is working?

My 93 Ford t-bird over heats and i really don't know what could be the problem, the radiator is working fine, and also the fan and the thermostat, i don't think is a head gasket because the oil looks alright with no contamination and there is no steam coming from the exhaust im beginning to suspect the water pump but the weep hole is not leaking. So does a water pump MUST leak from the weep hole if it is bad, or it could be bad and not leak? thanks in advance...How do i know if my car water pump is working?the water pump might be bad, it won't let the coolant to circulate. or you might have an air pocket in the coolant, that is the great possibility, you need to bled out that air. check the auto manual first before you start that service, all cars are different setup. and to check the water pump if it works, let it run and hold the upper coolant hose for few minutes and let someone to help you to watch the gage if its going to the hot zone, the hose you just holding should get hot even if there is air pocket. then you will know the pump is working. check the botom hose also,to check if the coolant circulate . If it wont get hot the botm hose , you might have a restriction in the engine block. checked also the fan clutch if you have one. Jesus is good . only God is good. How do i know if my car water pump is working? My husband says: If it has a clutch fan, the clutch could be bad; the impleller in the water pump could be bad or broke and to check and make sure your belt is not slipping. Hope this gives you some ideas! How do i know if my car water pump is working?Water pumps fail with some regularity--you can expect to replace yours sometime before 100,000 miles, if not sooner, and here's how to do it.Step2Locate the water pump pulley. The pulley is the round part that the belt is attached to. To find it, look for the belts. You will see more than one pulley. Your car will have an alternator with a pulley and perhaps an air conditioner power steering and smog pump pulleys. If you are unsure, ask your mechanic to point out the water pump pulley.

Step3Grab opposite ends of the round pulley and check for %26quot;play%26quot; (looseness): Try to rock it back and forth. There should be no give. If there is, the bearings are going and it's time to replace the water pump. By the time you can feel play in the water pump pulley, you may also be able to hear the bad bearing when the engine is running - there may be a low-pitched grinding noise coming from the water pump pulley.

Step4Visually check the water pump (it's located behind the pulley) for signs of a coolant leak. If the water pump gasket is leaking, it must be replaced. This is a good time to get a new water pump, too, unless it was just recently replaced.

How do i know if my car water pump is working? It doesn't have to leak from the weep hole to have a bad shaft bearing in your pump. This won't affect your pump's ability to create a flow. Warm your car up and see if coolant ever moves or if it just stays put or comes out of the cap. You may just have a bad thermostat or a clogged radiatior (internally clogged). How do i know if my car water pump is working? Does the heater work? I would think if it does then the pump is pumping and maybe a flush would help..Are the radiator hoses ok, not collapsing?. Maybe a good bet to find a good diagnostic shop. Good luck. How do i know if my car water pump is working?Check the radiator for debris trapped in the cooling fins. This happened to me when I had an overheating problem in an '84 Trans Am I once owned. The debris was trapped between the radiator and the A/C condenser, so I didn't see it. Once that was sorted out, the cooling system worked great. How do i know if my car water pump is working?with car running. look inside radiator. if the water is running like a river. than your pump is working. How do i know if my car water pump is working?when does it overheats? when you're in stop %26amp; go traffic or when you drive on freeway? if you're in stop %26amp; go traffic it maybe an auxiliary heater resistor that got blown and doesn't engage second radiator fan. if you're driving it on freeway it it may be a water pump bearing went out or you may have air inside your cooling system. i'd start with the resistor.

How do you know if you need to replace the water pump or the radiator?

Two months ago, my father replaced my radiator and now, for the past two weeks, I have to constantly fill the coolant with water. How do you know if you need to replace the water pump or the radiator? All of the answers thusfar are accurate. There has to be a leak for your coolant system to lose coolant/water. If you're refilling your radiator, you need to make sure to have the right mixture of coolant and water. It should be half and half. Check the hoses to make sure they were tightened up after the radiator was replaced. There is a small hole (weep hole) on the water pump that will show a coolant trail if it is leaking. If the radiator was only replaced two months ago, I'd ask the placed that did the replacement to check for leaks. There should be a warranty for the radiator or the work done. I'd start there since it hasn't been very long. The longer you wait to have them check it out, the more likely they won't be as helpful. You need to show the problem right after the work was done or they'll assume you simply had another problem start up later. A pressure test is the best method of locating one or more coolant leaks, but if it's a hose it should be readily visible.

I hope this helps. How do you know if you need to replace the water pump or the radiator?Look for a leak, probably a small leak. That's the only way an otherwise normal cooling system can lose coolant. Look for leaks around the upper and lower radiator hoses, heater hoses and the drain valve at the bottom of the radiator on the side that faces the engine, or a loose or ill fitting radiator cap.

The cooling system is a sealed system, that is all the coolant you put in the system at the beginning of the year should still be there at the end of the year. It won't boil off because water under 15lbs pressure won't boil until 357F. Now, if you car overheats, yes, some of this water can boil off.How do you know if you need to replace the water pump or the radiator?

Have it pressure tested and repaired. Do not let that engine

overheat or even run hot for that matter.

It does a lot of damage..

Fix it ASAP ..

You're not blowing white smoke out the exhaust are you ?

Hope this helps...How do you know if you need to replace the water pump or the radiator?when checking for leaks be sure to check underside of water pump...there is a seep hole there that when pump fails water seeps out...also if you hold fan blades and shake them back and forth, not turn, if you feel looseness the pump may be brokenHow do you know if you need to replace the water pump or the radiator?suggest to find the leak. Suggest that First step would be to check the ground where the car is parked and go from thereHow do you know if you need to replace the water pump or the radiator?water pumps usually leak from the weep hole under them and make a noise and radiators don,t make noises.

You can't do this unless you want to kill it. Must keep these engines topped up with coolant and out of the red or we blow head gaskets and it becomes more expensive to fix than the ride is worth.

Sounds like it's time to man up with the $ and put a pump or hose in it. These aren't hard to do and they are even easier to screw up. If you have the timing only two teeth off you will bend valves when you turn it over so you need to be exact and correct the first time. I highly recommend using some sort of diagram. I still do after doing them for twelve years and it helps big time. Also there are plated links on the chain that should aid in the timing alignment. Pay attention to where they go. Good luck.

How do you build a water pump?

I need information about basic water pumps. I'll have to build a mechanical one for school. Do you have any ideas, information, designs, links? Thanks! How do you build a water pump? There are a number of different types of pumps (and some overlap between types, too).

A suction pump basically %26quot;sucks%26quot; water up. This might be a piston pump, or a venturi pump (or some other types). This type of pump raises water up by lowering the air pressure above the water, and letting atmospheric pressure push the water up the tube. Suction pumps can't pull water up more than about 32 feet (because that's how high atmospheric pressure can lift a column of water) but they have the advantage that the pump can be located at the top of where you want the water (rather than down where tie water is).

A %26quot;Lift pump%26quot; basically uses mechanical force to raise water upwards. This could be a chain of buckets, or an Archimedes screw, or a %26quot;bubble-lift%26quot; pump. All these pumps need to have at least part of the pump down at the water level (with the exception of the %26quot;bubble lift%26quot;, which is kind of a unique design).

The most common water pumps are centrifugal pumps. These use a set of spinning vanes to pressurize the water. Water comes in at the center, and hit spinning vanes; these shove the water outward through centrifugal force, and the outlet pipe is at the outside edge of the circle.

One other interesting type of pump is the %26quot;hammer%26quot; pump. It's sometimes used in remote farming areas, because you can use the energy of a running stream to pump water high up a cliff. In a hammer pump, you let water flow through a relatively long tube. The tube has a vertical pipe near it's end. You let the water run through, and then suddenly close off the end of the pipe. The momentum of the water (combined with the fact that water isn't very compressible) can force a %26quot;shot%26quot; of water very far up the vertical tube.

Hope this gives you enough to search for on the web!How do you build a water pump?A very simple and old design for a water pump is called the ball-chain or bucket-chain pump.

I need to make a human powered water pump?

So I need to make a human powered water pump... Does anyone know how to make one? Any websites that could show me would be nice.

    MORE DETAILS:

The pump is on the ground...it needs to pump water from a reservoir into another reservoir that is two meters high and two metres across from where the pump is... The pump needs to be handheld too. What should I use and any good plans on how to make it?I need to make a human powered water pump? The simplest manual pump is the lever-arm pump. This is just an elongated cylindrical reservoir, a valve casing, and a pump chamber in a linear arrangement. A piston within the pump chamber is connected to a link, and a handle which is used to pump the water.

You can make a simple one by converting an ordinary bicycle pump. Attach an input hose to the air inlet, and an output hose to the pressurized air output for the tire.

A good way to develop plans on how to make it would be to visit your local sporting shop or auto parts shop and look over their pumps.

How does a hydraulic ram water pump work?

These pumps were built over 100 years ago to move water using only the natural forces generated by the falling water through a pipe. How does a hydraulic ram water pump work?Try this link there is a simple picture and an explanation.

http://www.lifewater.ca/ndexram.htmHow does a hydraulic ram water pump work? The water must have some elevation drop... the RAM is made of several valves (check %26amp; clack) and a pressure tank. The water flows down into the pump through a pipe, and the flow closes the clack valve... the water then builds pressure, which forces some water up through the check valve (output). When the water pressure reduces to a certain point, the check valve closes, the clack valve opens, and it all starts over again! For a RAM to work, you have a certain percentage of water loss. We've used this type of pump for irrigation purposes, and it does work pretty nicely. How does a hydraulic ram water pump work?In the oil business we called it the hammer effect.

we have tanks about 700 ft. above the ocean. we had a small leak so they turned the valve off at the tank.there was another valve on the beach which they closed. This is a 36 in. line . all the repairs complete they opened the valve at the tank, not knowing that the oil had pulled a vacuum on the line before they closed the second valve . so when they opened the tank valve the oil rushed down and with the vacuum it accelerated and blew up the second valve. How does a hydraulic ram water pump work?It creates a pressure difference forcing the ram one way or another by attempting to compress something that is uncompressable, such as a liquid. How does a hydraulic ram water pump work?Water is allowed to build up some speed in a pipe. Then a valve suddenly stops the flow. Since the water in the pipe had some momentum, it doesn't want to stop so quickly and you get a spike in the pressure. The high pressure that develops allows some water to go through another valve and push upward to a higher water tank.

Note that only a small percentage of the water gets pushed up to the high pressure (high elevation) tank. So you have to have ample water. Also the water has to have a little motion to it. You can't build one of these pumps near a stagnant pond or slow moving river.

  • Hi: How can i adjust water pressure on a submersable well water pump the switch is outside beside expan. tank?

i installed a new pump don't know how to increase water pressure and to what what pressure it should be setHi: How can i adjust water pressure on a submersable well water pump the switch is outside beside expan. tank? This is very simple

i would sugest the pressure to be set betwene 60 to 70 NO MORE THAN 70.

    1. turn off power to pump (ether the circut breaker or a switch near the pressure switch) you dont want to weld the wrench to the switch.

    2. remove the cover to the pressure switch its self (usly one #2 phillips screw)

    3. now you will see 4 wires under some sloted screws nearest to the front of the switch, behint that is 1 or 2 bolts with a spring and a nut.

    4. if you see 2 bolts you will want to turn the nut on the larger one to the right. you will want to tighten it about 1 to 2 full turns. (the same goes if there is only one bolt also)

    5. now open the valve that is on the tank untill you here the switch click. then close the valve.

    6. turn the power back on tio the pump and watch the pressure gauge on the tank. i DO NOT RECOMEND MORE THAN 70PSI.

    7. if it goes over the pressure you want repete steps above exept loosen the nut in about 1/4 to 1/2 turns untill you reach the desired pressure

    8. if it does not reach your desired pressure then you do the same thing exept tighten the nut in 1/4 to 1/2 turns untill you attain your desired pressure.

    9. when the pressure is reached, replace cover so you dont risk rusting the contacts.

if you need more help feel free to email me. and i will assist you in any way that i can.Hi: How can i adjust water pressure on a submersable well water pump the switch is outside beside expan. tank?I understand each part except number 5. %26quot;. now open the valve that is on the tank untill you here the switch click. then close the valve.%26quot; where would this be located on the bladder tank or on the pump?

  • How much would it be in labor and parts to change a water pump on a new Dodge Durango?

How much would it be in labor and parts to change a water pump and on a 2000 Dodge Durango 5.9 4 wd with 109k.miles? Should I change the timing chain? If you can please give me a estimated Thank You!

I getting tired of old Vechiles LOLHow much would it be in labor and parts to change a water pump on a new Dodge Durango? The cheapo water pump from oreillys is $46, the higher end one is around $70. As far as labor, Mitchell OnDemand calls for 2 hours flag rate time to change it out. You'll probably be looking at at least 1 gallon of antifreeze as well for what will be lost changing it out, and I would recommend changing the thermostat when you change the water pump. The 5.9 uses a timing chain, which I wouldnt recommend replacing, seeing as the vehicle has that low of miles on it. I'm not sure how much labor costs in your area, but the shop I work at charges $75 per flag rate hour. So if we were to do it, taxes and everything it would be right around $250. If you live in a big city, you'll probably be expecting to pay around $100 a hour for labor at a reputable shop. Good luck and hope this helps. How much would it be in labor and parts to change a water pump on a new Dodge Durango?I do not know where you live, your best bet would be to find a reputable garage in your area and get an estimate from them. Most will give you a rough idea of what you are looking at.

I would not go to a Dealership, you would have to get a loan for a dealer to do the same job.

A friend of mine that has a 2006 Ford F-150 was given a quote of $1200 to do a tune up from a Ford Dealer, I sent him to the garage that does the work on all of my vehicles, he did everything the Dealership was going to do and charged him $300. So, shop around and see what kind of price you can get, see if you can find anything out about the garage about what kind of work they do, will they stand behind there work or not.How much would it be in labor and parts to change a water pump on a new Dodge Durango?it can cost alot($900 +) to have someone do it.i would recommend doing it yourself if you know a little about cars. you have to remove the fan shroud and the radiator to get to the water pump. it isnt very hard, but can take a while.

you probably dont need to replace the timing chain unless you can hear it or know its going bad, as long as you change your oil regularly then you should be good. How much would it be in labor and parts to change a water pump on a new Dodge Durango?i wouldn't change the timing chain and gears in it not unless its over 150 thousand,on the labor and parts for all that it only cost about 600 bucks to get all that done and that's with parts and labor, its not that expensive on a 5.9, good luck.

How do i remove the pully from the water pump?

i have a 1996 dodge dakota, i need to replace the water pump, but how do i remove the pulley assembly? do i remove the fan clutch? or do i remove the bolts on the pulley facing the water pump? any help would be appreciated. How do i remove the pully from the water pump?Usually you will have to remove both. Start with the fan clutch bolts to get the shrode off. If you already have that off, remove the bolts from the water pump side and pull the pulley and fan right out.

Good Luck! How do i remove the pully from the water pump?you remove the fan clutch assemblyHow do i remove the pully from the water pump?U need a pully puller. Ask Autozone if then can rent u the tool. How do i remove the pully from the water pump?Been a while, but I think the pulley is part of the pump; new pump will have a pulley on it. When you get the new pump, you will be able to compare it to the old one, and see exactly what needs to be removed. How do i remove the pully from the water pump?I am not familiar with your specific vehicle , but pulleys are attached in one of two basic ways. First, which is the older more standard way is that it is attached by bolts on the front of the pulley. While the belt is still on and tight (to keep the pulley from turning), use a socket wrench to loosen the bolts. Then take the belt off of the pulley and finnish removing the bolts. Reverse process for installing the pulley.

The second way I have seen is that the pulley is pressed onto the shaft and it must be pressed out at a shop unless you have a press of your own. In this case, you would not bother removing the pulley as the new pump will likely come with one installed. This is assuming that your engine has an electric fan. Since you indicate it is a 1996, my money is on electric fans. There would be no clutch or anything attaching the fan to the water pump and simplifying the removal and instalation. By 1996 most vehicles had abandoned the clutch fan in support of the electric fan for fuel economy. If by chance it does have a clutch fan, you will be required to remove the entire assembly. You can go to your local library for books on your spacific vehicle and engine. If they wont let you check it out, then copy the pages you need.

Every library I have ever been to keeps a full assortment of older and up to date %26quot;Chilton's%26quot; auto repair manuals.

How Can I Test to see if my Intex water pump is working correctly?

First time pool owner so any answers would be great....How Can I Test to see if my Intex water pump is working correctly?Air bubbles coming out a pool return constantly is usually caused by loose hose fittings on the suction side of the pump, a pump lid not properly secured, a pump drain plug not tight or something partially interfering with the pump suction and causing cavitation. Take your pick. It'll be one of those, you'll just have to eliminate them one by one.

and does anybody know how much it would be to have it registed into my name ?How much would it cost to have a water pump in to a 1996 jeep cherokee ?it's really not hard to do, you could probably do it yourself. Here's how it's done:

    http://jeepin.com/features/waterpump/ind

The pump should run about $40 or so depending on where you buy it. You don't need the fancy one, OEM is fine.

Plan on about $100 installed depending on the garage and labor rates. Shop around, try some of the independent garages, especially if they will put in a pump you buy. Garages often have mark-ups of up to 100% or more on parts, so if you can buy it and have someone do the install you can save some money. I know a lot of guys who would do the work for lunch and a twelve-pack...

Registration?? Depends on your state, some are easy, just a flat-fee, others, like here in California, get you for every penny they can. See if your state vehicle department has a website, it might give more info. How much would it cost to have a water pump in to a 1996 jeep cherokee ?i'd do it for the cost of the part and two six packs.

By the way, the 525 had a timing belt and interference type engine which suffers damage if the belt breaks. Back then you had to change the belt every 60,000 miles, so you might want to change your timing belt at the same time you do the water pump.

How much to INSTALL water pump and timing belt on a PT Cruiser?

I bought the Water Pump and timing belt at a local auto store by me. I just want to know the cost of labor! I do not want to go to a Chrysler auto body shop for they are expensive! and i'd rather not get cheated! Any ideas of how much it would cost to JUST install it if I've already bought the parts? How much to INSTALL water pump and timing belt on a PT Cruiser? One most dealers if not all do not cheat customers, their over head is a lot more than your mom and pop repair shop, and the mechanics at the dealer are factory trained, big difference.

Two you should have never bought those parts, because no matter what, be it dealer or shop, they will not warranty the part if it fails, the part store may, but not the labor

Three you would not go to a Chrysler auto body shop, they dont do mechanical repairs

Four the cost will very since repairs in California is way different then in Texas or New York

Figure $400 to $750. The dealer wouldnt even touch your car with your own bought parts

How to know if car water pump is making noise?

Hi, I can't tell if this noise is coming from my car's water pump, I went with my friend to this mechanic he knows and all he did was looked down the water pump and said it was the water pump making noise. He said he could make sure if it is the water pump if I bring it in later.

Can he find out for sure if the noise is from the water pump? I'm just worried it might be from the engine, if so then I might as well sell the car and not spend anymore money on it changing the water pump. Thanks. How to know if car water pump is making noise? If you don't have an automotive style stethoscope (like doctors use) then place the tip of a long screwdriver on the water pump while listening on the handle end when the car is running. You should be able to hear any odd noises. It is hard to tell because of the rumbling background but you can place it on a good device such as an alternator to tell the difference. How to know if car water pump is making noise?Remove the belt that turns the water pump and start the car. If the noise is gone, it's the water pump. If you still hear the noise, it's not.

My travel trailer's water pump is not pulling up antifreeze, and it may be due to ice. What can I do?

I'm a little late getting started this year - have been having night below freezing and days in 30's. Could this be ice in the fresh water tank or lines, and how can I remedy this?My travel trailer's water pump is not pulling up antifreeze, and it may be due to ice. What can I do?The best solution would be to put it in a a garage or one of those pop-up tent/shelters, where you could put in a couple of heaters and warm the whole thing above freezing. Can anyone tell me how to connect an old water hand pump to outside tap?

It is an old fashioned water pump that we want to make a feature in the garden and was wondering if we could connect it to outside tap?Can anyone tell me how to connect an old water hand pump to outside tap?The plunger and valve leathers in your old pump wouldn't withstand tap pressures, and you would have water flowing through the pump anytime the tap was on. You could feed a tank from the tap, and pump from the tank with the hand pump. Can anyone tell me how to connect an old water hand pump to outside tap?The only way I can think to make an old hand-pump functional again would be to submerge the bottom of the pump in a reservoir of water like it would have been originally set up..... and have your outside spigot available to fill that reservoir.

Hand pumps work on suction and mechanical advantage (leverage).... if you put pressurized water into hand-pump (like would come from the tap) it is going to make suction difficult and the pump handle itself would be irrelevant. No need (and no ability) to pull the water up from below with the lever.... if the water is already under pressure and pushing it's way toward the path of least resistance.

Can anyone tell me how to run an electric water pump from a solar panel?

In case our electric goes out we would like to be able to run the water pump (for the well) via solar panel. Can you give me instructions, pitfalls, recommendations, links etc to help me get started?

The more solar info i can get the better!

    thanks 10 points on offer!

Our sunlight is unobstructedCan anyone tell me how to run an electric water pump from a solar panel?First you have to know the wattage of your water pump.

Then you have to determine how many solar panels will be needed to run the pump or you may find it cheaper to undersized the solar system but provide it with a battery back up for a reasonable length of time. If the time extends beyond your plan then you will not be able to run the pump all day.

So you may additionally need to know how long each day you will need to run the pump.

Photovoltaic panels are DC electricity as would be any battery backup, but the pump is no doubt 220 AC. This means you will need an inverter to make the conversion.

How do I make a water pump from air?

I have a small fish tank air pump and I want to turn it into a water pump to water my plants... How do I do this? Maybe send me a link to how to build it or something...How do I make a water pump from air?just add waterHow do I make a water pump from air?Sorry--water pumps and air pumps are very different devices, and it is unlikely you can adapt the air pump to pump water very efficiently, if at all. Small water pumps are available from scientific supply companies on the internet, and they are not very expensive.

In addition, a hand-powered water pump suitable for tasks such as watering plants is not difficult to make. An internet search on %26quot;water pump plans%26quot; should find you some examples.

Good luck! How do I make a water pump from air?You almost certainly can not - at least directly - the air pump is intended to operate in air and draw what it supplies from there - to pump water it would have to be put in the water and the electricals inside are not water proof. Water pumps are either waterproofed (like fountain or sump pumps that are sunk in the water) or have an intake that takes a hose. How do I make a water pump from air?you cant unless the air drives the water its not a water proof pump. you could get a bottle put a cork in the top, drill 2 holes in the cork bigger enough to tightly fit the air hoses place the air hose from the pump so it is just poking through the cork put another hose through the other hole all the way to the bottom of the bottle this hose will go to your plants fill bottle 3/4 full of water and switch on the air pressure will force the water out the other tube to the plants. How do I make a water pump from air?it is quite complex!

1st that pump does not have much pressure! it will not rise water high.

2 how often do you want to do that? because you will need a timer system

it may be complicated to do

    conclusion

buy the proper system unless it is something academic and you just want to play with.

    then it is another story!

I have lots of those. They all seem useless to others but not to me!

Those air pump have a mechanical resonator.

if you use anything else it will not vibrate at the proper frequency

Even 50/60 Hz is too much change

If someone is familiar with this motor, it would be a lot better. I am pretty good about doing my own repairs, but I hated this one. As someone else mentioned, Most of the problem is lack of space to work. If you are a samll person, you might get away with just moving stuff out of the way, but I am large, and had to remove everything to just get to it. These have dual valve trains, so make sure they dont move when you remove the timing belt.cause that could suck, if they dont go back together right. How can I fix my timing that i must have messed up while changing my water pump?

I changed my water pump on my 1996 Chrysler concord had to take the belt off to do it. must have messed up the timing...PLEASE HELP!!!!! Thanks..How can I fix my timing that i must have messed up while changing my water pump?Did you set the engine to TDC before taking the belt out?

If engine is aligned to TDC, you just have to reinstall the belt. If you did not set to TDC before taking out, then you are screwed- tow your car to a mechanic.

Here is what mechanic has to do. Take all spark plugs out, place a socket over the crankshaft and turn the cam and crank independently to set it to TDC mark. During the turning process, the valve may contact piston. By hand turning, you can feel this condition and adjust the cam to work around this problem. After setting the engine to TDC, then install the timing belt and retest. How can I fix my timing that i must have messed up while changing my water pump? You need to find a timing belt diagram. It will be in a Haynes or Chiltons manual for your car. While you are doing this you might as well replace the belt.

Anyway the diagram will show you how to line up the timing marks. How can I fix my timing that i must have messed up while changing my water pump? You probably will need to tear it back down, and follow a Haynes manual step by step on how to get it back in time. Probably the usual.. get the #1 piston to TDC on a compression stroke and then line up the cam / crank marks. Not sure if that is the right set-up for your vehicle, but they are all pretty similar to this. How can I fix my timing that i must have messed up while changing my water pump?sure they are timing marks on most cars or you line up the rotor with the number one plug wire also theres a marker down on the bottom pulley you have to line up... if you going to do the work best you get a book about it they do wondersHow can I fix my timing that i must have messed up while changing my water pump?Someone tell me what a water pump belt has to do with timing. I am total confused. How can I fix my timing that i must have messed up while changing my water pump?tear it back down bring it to tdc. no1 were the marks line up to see wich one is off and if you did not loosen the cam gear bolts. reset the timing as follows with the marks on the cams lined up between the two dots on the case and the crank one tooth off to your left as you face the motor install the belt from the crank to drivers side cam note probabaly wont stay tightthat is ok now using asmall clamp hold the belt to the cam and run it under the water pump and over the pass. side cam keep ing belt tight between cams clamp belt to cam gear and install over tensioner pulley pull up on belt near tensioner as you roll crank back to mark this picks up the slack and sets it right hold tension on belt with tensioner pulley while installing hydralic tensioner cylender. How can I fix my timing that i must have messed up while changing my water pump?Wow, you do have a problem, I need to know what size the engine is to help you though, I done one yesterday myself, they are a pain in the A#%. Matter of fact I own a 99 model. How can I fix my timing that i must have messed up while changing my water pump?assuming you didnt mess with igniton system , huh?

you set the timing for TDC on the Exhaust stroke and not the compression stroke.

    ( or who knows)

put crank at TDC ( for number #1 cylinder.)

what is says in manual, I have car here, that's #4 .

then the cams must be set to the correct TDC position.

    install the tbelt.

now crank engine over (plugs out)( with wrench )

and watch the action of #1 cylinder piston and the action of the cams. TDC , CW rotation from front, Intake valve opens , then close, then compression, TDC and then power stroke both valves must be close , then pistion rising and exhaust valve opens and ends at TDC exh. done.

( you just validated proper action of #1 cylinder and cam)

if that looks good, double check exact tooth counts and timing marks one more time on the Cam sprockets.

per the manual instructions this engine.

follow any belt pretensioning rules per manual.

    if all that is good,

    button up.

measure twice , then cut ,as carpenters say.

I removed the drivebelt. The pulley has 3 bolts, and 3 holes. I tried to use 2 box wrenches to loosen, didn't work. I tried shoving a screw driver through one of the holes to stop the pulley from spinning, no luck.

How much should it cost for a water pump.?

My car was is leaking antifreeze. One guy told me without even l putting it up in the air to check it that it was the radiator. The second guy I took it to said it is the water pump. He told me a total of six hundred sixty one dollars to replace it. I went to pep boys and was told eight hundred sixty two. I have a 2000 grand am se.How much should it cost for a water pump.?It depends what engine you have. If it is a V6 3.4... the labor is only .5 and the water pump is about $65.00, and one gallon of Dexcool is $21.33. Sounds like $661.00 is far off. If you have a 2.4 engine, the water pump is quite complicated to replace, as it is in the rear bottom of the engine and driven by the timing chain. I replaced one when I worked in a shop. Notice I said ONE? Those are a ******. More than likely you have a 2.4 with a price like that. That is also not a bad price, being that the pump runs about $50.00, but the labor is about 9.5 hours to install it. Make sure the diagnosis was properly done. The water pump on the 2.4 is a far cry from the radiator. The water pump bolts into the back of the timing cover, and the back flange on the pump bolts to another flang on the water pipe back there. There is also a bypass pipe that has an o-ring on it that pops into the pump. If it is just that o-ring leaking, you will save a ton of money. How much should it cost for a water pump.?Do it yourself I did it 4 times to different cars easy job depending on where you buy 40 to 90 dollars just take of belt drain radiator take off necessary accessories take of pump put a sealant on and there ya goHow much should it cost for a water pump.?23.00 at advanceautoparts.comHow much should it cost for a water pump.?those are hard to work on but not that hard to work on,id shop around i do those for around 350 bucks all the time, they are hard to put on,but there has to be a limit on how much the job is worth, that's almost what the car is worth, you can get it doe a lot cheaper than that, just by shopping around on prices, good luck with it.

and what brand of water pump would be the best to buy or is there a differents? for a 98 dodge durango. How do you remove the clutch fan to get the water pump off to replace it on a 1998 dodge durango?you hold the water pump pulley and loosen the fan clutch nut. it is a little smaller than 1 1/2%26quot;. you can buy a fan clutch wrench set, or find a parts store that loans tools like autozone. How do you remove the clutch fan to get the water pump off to replace it on a 1998 dodge durango? The brand probably does'nt matter as much as how much you want to spend on one. A remanufactured one will be much cheaper and should come with some sort of warranty.

I'm not familiar with dodge's but most fan cluthes bolt to the water pump itself. Remove the bolts and it should come off. Sounds easy does'nt it? lolHow do you remove the clutch fan to get the water pump off to replace it on a 1998 dodge durango?if the pump only lasted 10 years?? jk i would go back with a mopar pump, also when your looking down at the fan the steem the fan is on is connected to the head of the pump. take your belt off and turn the nuts on the studs for the water pump ccw. when your looking down on it. probably need to take the top rad shroud off as well just makes for a easy removal. make sure to clean all the gasket material off the block. and use silicone when you put the new one back on. torque the mounting bolts to spec. and you should be fineHow do you remove the clutch fan to get the water pump off to replace it on a 1998 dodge durango? If it is the clutch fan I am thinking it is, you should be able to wrench it off by turning it in the same direction that the engine cranks. You may have to use a pinch bar on pulley mounting bolts to stop it from free wheeling when you turn the wrench. As for the pump. What most jobber's sell are rebuilt units, which is a fine replacement. But check with the dealer as well. I have found in the past it is cheaper to get some parts from the dealer. I might add that most re-manufactured parts are processed in the same building, and difference in the pump will be the name on the box it comes in.

How do you remove water pump from 2004 Chrysler Town and Country V6 3.8L?

There are no leaks. But there seems to be a strange burning smell and the pulley on the water pump has a slight wobble to it. The pump is making a chirping or cricket type sound when the engine is running.. Bad Bearing? It seems easy enough to replace, but I have never done it before. Any advice? How do you remove water pump from 2004 Chrysler Town and Country V6 3.8L?it's not to hard actually... just jack the vehicle up on the passenger side place a jack stand under it for safety, take the tire off for access, remove the splash shield/inner fender (the big plastic piece held on by a couple of clips/nylon rivets and 10 MM bolts), and you should be able to look directly at it.. if I remember right its held on with 8 10MM or 12MM bolts and 2 13MM bolts near the A/C compressor. the only hard part is getting all the old gasket off to prevent leaks when reinstalling. How do you remove water pump from 2004 Chrysler Town and Country V6 3.8L?The process itself was pretty easy as descibed, but the real challenge was removing the pump -- meaning, once the bolts were removed, there wasnt enough room to pull the pump out -- it was very close to the frame of the van. I used a pry bar to push the engine away from frame then the pump fell out

How much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer?

I was told i need a new water pump and thermostat for my blazer i don't know much about cars so i need advice on what to expect so i don't get ripped offHow much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer? The parts might cost less than $300 from the auto parts store. However, if you get it through your mechanic or auto repair shop, they may pad the price. Then you have to figure the Chilton's price on installation.

Chilton is the book most mechanics use to give the standard amount of time that it takes to repair/replace anything on your vehicle. They charge according to the time it takes. I don't know what your mechanic charges by the hour.

Good luck! I hope you can still afford Christmas! It wouldn't hurt to call the auto shop and ask how much they estimate. If you've already left the vehicle there, tell them you want a call with the estimate before they repair the vehicle. If they call with a higher price than you expected to pay, tell them you've got to check something. Then call around to see what prices are like with some of the other auto repair places in your area. How much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer?call napa instead of using yahoo answersHow much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer?$200 TO $300How much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer?well my brother said a couple hundred hope it helps! How much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer?honestly, about 800 dollars or so. Those are hard labor to replace. Depending on how many miles are on the vehicle, you may want to consider selling it and getting something newer. How much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer?Depends on your mechanic , but if your doing all that might as well replace the timing belt while you are at it . You should really call around to get the best rate and make sure they confirm with you before they begin working .How much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer?Go to an independent mechanic, not the Chevy Dealer. The dealer cost will be too much. Ask some friends in your area for someone they have used. I think $300 would be a fair price, and they should put in new antifreeze and maybe replace any hoses that are worn out. Good luck. How much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer? It's not cheap, lots of labor involved....if you are replacing the water pump you probably will want to think about changing the timing belt/chain also, if you haven't had replaced already. they have to take off all the same parts to do it.How much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer?well the thermostat costs like 3 bucks (about what i paid for my car) and its super easy to put in. You probably know someone who could throw it in for you for free just ask around. The water pump could cost from 80-150 bucks.. but if you have a shop put it in for you expect them to throw like 2-300 dollars onto that. It takes abit longer to put in than the thermostat but if you know someone whos willing to put it in for you for like 50 bucks or so thats a better deal than going to the shop. How much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer?it depends on what auto parts dealer you go to.i wouldn't use autozone parts on any of my vehicles.because autozone sends their stuff out to be rebuilt and then the part is cheaply rebuilt and sold high.i go to o'reilly auto parts they are better and they offer a lifetime warrenty on most of their parts.autozone doesn't offer a lifetime warrenty on their partsHow much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer?Between $275.00 to $350.00...

TRY FINDING AN INDEPENDENT AUTOMOTIVE REPAIR SHOP INSTEAD OF THE DEALER OR ANY CHAIN STORE BECAUSE YOU WILL BE OVERALL MORE PLEASED WITH THE PERSONAL SERVICE THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE.How much should i expect to pay for a water pump and thermostat to be replaced on a 98 chevy blazer?I would say about $200-$300 parts included. They only extra parts your mechanic might suggest would be a serpentine belt, about $30.

How does one prime a water pump connected to a lake?

I have a pump connected to a lake, that I use to water garden. I changed the line into the lake as it had a air leak and lost it.'s prime.I have filled water back into the tank and lines .several times. And it hasn't caught it's prime. It is a year old pump that came with it's own tank.

When I am doing all this I leave the tap end closed.

I'm pretty sure that all is tight and not leaking. The line into the water is only about 5ft deepHow does one prime a water pump connected to a lake?Priming means filling the pump and suction pipe with water. You must evacuate the air from all the suction lines and the pump. It may take several minutes to prime depending on depth to water, pipe size and length. Note: it is easier to prime a pump if you allow all the air to escape from the pump and pipes. The water cannot go in unless the air can escape.

Pumps do not hold prime, the piping system does that job. Jet pumps must be primed on the original start-up. They will reprime after that as long as the footvalve or check valve holds and there is no air leak on the suction side of the pump.

I'm in West LA. I go to a few stores around here, but Home Depot or OSH has a lot of pond pumps in many various sizes. Ponds are a lot more self-sustaining and long-term than aquariums and can %26quot;suffer%26quot; through more %26quot;adverse%26quot; conditions than an aquarium because they have the outdoors and the earth and the natural environment to help sustain and maintain them. For instance, which would die sooner without water? A potted indoor houseplant or a plant outdoors in the ground? Also, while it is unattractive, the green algae is not harmful to the fish. In fact, it makes for a little bit of good munchin' for the goldies. That said, getting some circulation in the pond would be nice, so get to HomeDepot or OSH as soon as you can. This water is going to be nice and cycled, so don't mess with it very much. Don't take out all of the water in an effort to clean it. Just add some detoxifer and then top it off with water from the hose. If you need to get rid of the algae, just do some scrubbing, but leaving a little bit is actually good for the pond. How do i fix my koi pond water pump?? If the timing belt and belt tensioner pulley was replaced also, that's the going rate for the job. You have an interference engine and a timing belt driven water pump, so I'm sure they changed the timing belt and if they did a good job, you got billed reasonably. If the belt had broken, you may have had to total the car.How much does a 96 neon water pump cost?actual pump cost...look up Advance.com....bet its 150 dollars......shop around...u may get someone to do it for 400 to 500... water damage on the belts LOL,,,every time u go through a puddle they get water on them

  • How do I remove fan hub from 94 lincoln in order to replace water pump?

i have fan blades loose I have 3 of4 water pump bolts loose. I need to remove fan hub before I go on. also I need to place fan on new water pump. have worked on many cars but this is first Lincoln. also antilock brake motor is running constantly and brakes are VERY touchy. right now I have the battery cables off.

I need help. Ineed this car back on the road. How do I remove fan hub from 94 lincoln in order to replace water pump?Been awhile since I've done a Lincoln but all fan blade hubs are ether held on by bolts (which means you have to wiggle like heck to get them off, some seize very tight due to the hub being aluminium and the shaft being steel, have had to buy a new hub in some cases) or the hub is screwed on to the shaft. If it is screwed on then there will be a big hex nut at the back of the hub to put a wrench on to unscrew it from the water pump. This will also be a left hand thread so turn in the opposite direction to loosen.

Yous ABS motor running constantly sounds like the accumulator is shot and needs to be replaced. How do I remove fan hub from 94 lincoln in order to replace water pump?should be 4 nuts holding fan on, you might need to wiggle fan some to get it offHow do I remove fan hub from 94 lincoln in order to replace water pump?the fan is bolted to the fan clutch. the fan clutch must be removed to replace the water pump. there is a large nut that holds the fan clutch to the water pump. it takes a special tool to hold the fan clutch and loosen the nut. you will need to fan blade bolt back to the fan clutch to do this. also the nut is reverse thread. you can borrow or rent the tool from autozone, checker, schucks, kragen.
