So im looking at this real cherry vt500, that has a dead water pump. How hard is this to replace? The most i can really do mechanically is change my oil and replace spark plugs, points, that type of thing.
Will a novice be able to do this? Ive a full mechanics set.Replacing the water pump on a 1983 honda shadow vt500?It's not a huge job, but you will need a shop manual. My main concern would be, did the pump failure result in internal damage to the motor? If not, how did the previous owner become aware of the problem?
