How do you know when you need to replce your water pump?

In m 96 Chevy Cavalier the coolant is pouring out of the little hole in the water pump...Does that mean I need to replce the whole thing, or could there be a different problem causing that?



All the coolant pours steadily out of the hole...and I'm pretty sure it isn't from a hose.How do you know when you need to replce your water pump?yes, if the coolant is coming out of the weep hole at the bottom of the water pump you need to replace it.How do you know when you need to replce your water pump?When the temp gauge goes into the red.
