Do you have to turn off the water pump when you put drywall into the basement?

A friend of mine was putting drywall into Person A's basement. Person A later called and accused my friend of turning off the water pump. It had rained after the drywall was put into the basement. Another friend of mine said that turning the water pump off is not needed when putting drywall into the basement. How can we prove that it is not my friend's fault for messing up the basement? Any suggestions?Do you have to turn off the water pump when you put drywall into the basement?Did your friend turn off the water pump? If yes,and forgot to turn back on,is his fault the water stayed in basement.If no,then wasn't his fault.

Should not have to even touch the water pump to hang drywall.One has nothing to do with the other.Do you have to turn off the water pump when you put drywall into the basement?Drywall should have nothing to do with the water pump, if it rained then it was probably some leak in the basement.Do you have to turn off the water pump when you put drywall into the basement?Just tell your friend to not admit that he/she turned off the water pump (assume you mean %26quot;sump pump%26quot;).

I can't think of a reason to turn off the pump, unless maybe it was plugged into an outlet that was needed for lighting or power tools. In that case, it would have been good business to restore the pump's power.

As they say %26quot;Mistakes were made!%26quot;

One option would be to let the case go to small claims court, where the plaintiff will need to prove that your friend turned off the pump.Do you have to turn off the water pump when you put drywall into the basement?Guessing you mean a sump pump. Did your friend unplug the pump to put the drywall around the outlet and forget to plug it back in?Do you have to turn off the water pump when you put drywall into the basement?Assuming the %26quot;water pump%26quot; is a sump pump. The only scenario I can think of where the sump pump would be turned off while hanging drywall is if the drywall was being hanged around the electrical outlet. In that case, you absolutely would need to unplug the pump.

Of course, it is a little irresponsible (or lazy) of Person A to not check the finished product and ensure that everything is back to normal.Do you have to turn off the water pump when you put drywall into the basement?if your friend turned the sump pump off he is an idiot.theres no reason to turn the pump off,its supposed to stay on all the time.what does putting drywall in a basement have to do with the sump pump anyway????

sump pumps are installed to pump out ground water and rain overflow from the drain tile,if the pump is turned off,the basement will flood.Do you have to turn off the water pump when you put drywall into the basement?if your talking about a sump pump then there's no way. he may have unplugged it by accident and not even been aware
