What size of a water pump do I need for a 50 meter bolehole?

I have sunk a 50 meter bolehole with water from 9 meters all way down. I want to buy a water pump. I would like to know how big the pump should be. I want to have as much water as possible. What size of a water pump do I need for a 50 meter bolehole? You mean borehole? You mean electric pump in horspower or fuelfed engine pump?

An electric submersible pump higher than 5 hpWhat size of a water pump do I need for a 50 meter bolehole? The determining factor in how deep a pump can go is really head pressure. You need a pump that develops enough head pressure to lift the water the height you desire.

Water is about 1 atmosphere of pressure for 10 meters. Therefore you would need a pump to generate about 5 atmospheres or 75 psi of head pressure to lift from 50m to surface. Since you say you have water at 9 m depth, you really would only need 1 atm or 15 psi of head pressure, however, do you anticipate drawing the water level down to the bottom then look for the 75 psi rating.

As far as volumo of flow, get whatever suits your needs as long as it fits in the bore hole. What size of a water pump do I need for a 50 meter bolehole? The limit is in the well, (bore-hole), not the pump.

The 'head` is only 9 meters + whatever your

utilization requires .

You should run a test.

Pump the bore-hole down a meter or so and

measure how long it takes to come back to the

9 meter level.

This, with the diameter of the bore will give you

the capacity of the well.

Then size your pump for that GPM at the pressure you require.
