Our water pump quit working and I was wondering how to fix it?

I went to turn on the water in the kitchen and nothing came out. Figured it had to be the water pump because I didn't hear it kick on. How do I either turn the water pump back on or reset it?? I have never dealt with a water pump before! Help ASAP!Our water pump quit working and I was wondering how to fix it?You didn't say if it was above or below ground, so I will assume that we are talking above ground. First thing to do is check your circut breaker to be sure it is working properly and look for the reset button on the pump a volt meter will do this. Next check the regulator switch on the pump if this is bad it won't turn the pump off or on again use a volt meter. If this checks out then check the motor for power. You may have a loose connection or a short that is keeping it from working. By using a volt meter you will be able to track where the problem is. Another way to check to see if the motor is working is by disconnecting the wiring and wire the motor direct. Our water pump quit working and I was wondering how to fix it?I would start by checking your circuit breaker. Since you did not hear it start that might be the first place to check. Our water pump quit working and I was wondering how to fix it?with any luck maybe the breaker throwed, if that aint it then I guess maybe the pressure switch contacts need cleaning

probably have a burr or burned contacts, could be the motor but i doubt it. might be the starter capacitor has went out. thats the number one thang that goes wrong and the part is less than 10 bucks. see your well parts supplierOur water pump quit working and I was wondering how to fix it?check the breaker panel and see if any breakers have tripped or if you know which one it is reset it and try it again if that is not the case on the pump motor there maybe a red 'reset button' try resetting it good luck
