How to make a water pump for an indoor waterfall?

hello,

I am trying to make an indoor waterfall for a party. It would ideally be about 10 feet tall, so I need to make a pump that would vertically raise water that collects at the bottom to the top to fall down again. Does anyone know of any websites/books/other sources that could tell me how to build my own pump, especially for someone like me with no experience with this kind of thing? How to make a water pump for an indoor waterfall?Building a submersible pump would cost more than purchasing one. You can buy submersible pumps from home improvement stores.

You could use an external pump with a suction and discharge, but you would have to house this in a cabinet that you can access. How to make a water pump for an indoor waterfall?home depot or lowes get a free standing sump pump mount a 10 foot pvc pipe to it and you will be just fineHow to make a water pump for an indoor waterfall?depending on the amount of water you want to flow you could use a fish tank type pump or a submersible type that flows a garden hose size you should use a ball valve to regulate the water flow/pressureHow to make a water pump for an indoor waterfall? If in the states, I would go to Harbor Freight and buy yourself a submersible water-pump, they are fairly cheap and I would spend any top-dollars for it unless you want it to last forever-you will takes this apart once the party is over, right?

You can use flexible line for fish tanks (ever an old garden hose and hose-clamps would work) to attach one end to the pump, and one end to the top of your waterfall. I would make sure you have a basin deep enough to handle the fluids, it will take some serious volume once the pump is running, enough fluid to fill the line, and the basin %26amp; remember once you turn off the pump all that liquid will settle in the basis so make sure it wont over-flow and make a mess!

have fun
