A remanufactured one will be much cheaper and should come with some sort of warranty.



I'm not familiar with dodge's but most fan cluthes bolt to the water pump itself. Remove the bolts and it should come off. Sounds easy does'nt it? lolHow do you remove the clutch fan to get the water pump off to replace it on a 1998 dodge durango?if the pump only lasted 10 years?? jk i would go back with a mopar pump, also when your looking down at the fan the steem the fan is on is connected to the head of the pump. take your belt off and turn the nuts on the studs for the water pump ccw. when your looking down on it. probably need to take the top rad shroud off as well just makes for a easy removal. make sure to clean all the gasket material off the block. and use silicone when you put the new one back on. torque the mounting bolts to spec. and you should be fineHow do you remove the clutch fan to get the water pump off to replace it on a 1998 dodge durango?If it is the clutch fan I am thinking it is, you should be able to wrench it off by turning it in the same direction that the engine cranks. You may have to use a pinch bar on pulley mounting bolts to stop it from free wheeling when you turn the wrench. As for the pump. What most jobber's sell are rebuilt units, which is a fine replacement. But check with the dealer as well. I have found in the past it is cheaper to get some parts from the dealer. I might add that most re-manufactured parts are processed in the same building, and difference in the pump will be the name on the box it comes in.
